Q: What is the GoodTime Guitar Club ? A: A newly formed musical group in Stratford, Ontario, for experienced musicians who wish to keep their musical story going.
Q: What kind of musical group is it? A: We are a vocal group with acoustic back-up. We are looking for musically experienced adult singers that play acoustic guitar and other folk instruments.
Q: How big is the group? A: We would like to grow to about 9 members that can sing and accompany themselves.
Q: What kind of songs and style are you doing? A: Song selection will be mainly from North American singer songwriters that tell great stories through their music. Our emphasis will be on acoustic supported songs in the style of Americana.
Q. How experienced do you have to be to join? A. We are looking for members who can sing (lead and/or harmony and/or back up vocals). You should be able to play in time with others and have previous stage experience.
Q: What else are you looking for in members? A: It’s very important you are comfortable playing and singing with a group. Being open to coaching and offering constructive coaching to others will be essential.
Q: Do I have to audition to be part of GTGC? A: Yes. This is to ensure there is a good fit related to level and style of musical ability, song preferences as well as personal dynamics with the group.
Q: Are solo artists welcomed? A: Yes.
Q: How often are rehearsals and where will they be held? A: A 2-3 hour weekly rehearsal will be held in Stratford.
Q: How often do you intend to perform? A: Our goal is to perform at least once per month.
Q: Will I get paid for performing? A: The GTGC will be performing for charity and paid events. Any money earned will go towards expenses, charity contributions, special projects, and potentially to members.
Q: How does the group see itself in the community? A: There is a large charitable component to the group's goals. The GTGC intends to support and contribute to a variety of non-profit organizations in Stratford and area.
